JJ & I went out to a couple of sites in the East Bay yesterday. Easterly winds prevent us from flying Pacifica. The first site in Pleasanton was small & turbulent. JJ managed to get in a 10 minute flight before we decided to head on over to Benicia. The winds were hauling as we arrived at the Benicia launch site. A few wings were in the air, JJ quickly geared up & launched. I decided to wait out the winds in hopes that they would calm down a bit. Ten to fifteen minutes after JJ launched the winds went from howling to nothing. I got skunked at both sites.
The day wasn't lost. I ended up checking out both sites, Ziggy & Gary giving me great intro's to both. The end of the day was rewarded with a full moonrise to the East & a spectacular sunset to the West. The site of the Bay area below making me feel like a very lucky person to be living in such a spectacular location.
